So how’d you end up here, doing this interview?
Quasimatt called me out in his interview. Met him originally via Party DAO Discord where we did an OTC deal on some tokens.
Let’s check in with where your head is at right now. What tabs do you currently have open on your phone?
Total tabs: 44
Daily Mail article about Michael Pitt meltdown and subsequent hospitalization in Bushwick. I think Michael is a fantastic actor and really enjoyed him recently in Reptile (2023).
Today’s NYT article about Ye. Isn't it funny how they can call Ye, Kanye in headlines because they don't like him. It's an odd slight I notice in the media around Ye. Especially from a mainstream left leaning publication dedicated to correct use of pronouns and naming conventions.
‘NFL’ google search. With streaming it's so hard to figure out where to watch the games these days. Pro tip google has a TV and Streaming button under the card for each game which gives the info.
Tracking for my Saucony EXCURSION TR16 I ordered. Fucking with this brand.
About two dozen tabs researching sunglass factories and production techniques not going to link as they are trade secrets.
Monte Carlo Method wikipedia which is a broad class of computational algorithms that rely on repeated random sampling to obtain numerical results.
Martingale betting system wikipedia which was popular in 18th-century France.
Saint Petersburg Paradox wikipedia. The problem was invented by Nicolas Bernoulli, who stated it in a letter to Pierre Raymond de Montmort on September 9, 1713.
Growth Stocks and the Petersburg Paradox by David Durand in The Journal of Finance Vol. 12, No. 3 (Sep., 1957).
Vaughn Spann - 'Trilogy' October 5 – October 28, 2023 at Almine Rech’s new U.S Flagship in Tribeca. Someone said this show was awful so I had to look it up. The one blue one with the splash on it is really bad but the others which are more brushy are not bad at all as well as the ones with the horizontal bars.
How about the Platonic form of Leander—what people, places, or activities make you feel most yourself?
Fishing, working with my core group of Anna Bolina collaborators
What do you do in your spare time?
Fishing, watching sports
What makes you forget about checking your phone?
Working on set
Wind it back. What’s your favorite memory from the past year?
Anna Bolina SS23 show last September. Also securing the budget for it over two days in a really juicy memecoin LP position.
Now fast forward. What are you most looking forward to in the next month?
Testing a print process on puffer jackets which include dipping them into printed graphics which are suspended in liquid.
Time to get weird. What’s the weirdest thing you believe?
Ryder Ripps is innocent in regards to RR/BAYC.
Back to normie questions. What’s your dream job?
My current job as VP at Anna Bolina
What work of yours are you most proud of?
The next one I'm cooking right now. I’m proud of a lot of work of mine including the work I've done with Club Eat, but I don't dwell on the past as little as I can. All my energy is focused on what's next.
What are two goals, one personal and one professional, that you have for the next year? For your lifetime?
Personal goal this year: Catch a keeper striped bass (over 18 inches).
Professional goal this year: Launch a mix series on youtube or some shit like HÖR.
Personal goal lifetime: Build a drag car and compete in a streetcar class.
Professional goal lifetime: Anna Bolina as a family business for the next
generation.
Last few questions, focused on mapping your socio-creative world. Who are your creative inspirations?
Jannis Kounellis b. 1936 a Greek Italian artist who was based in Rome. A key figure associated with Arte Povera.
How about among people you know or are friends with?
I’m inspired constantly by Christian Velasquez and the work they do in general as well as with Demmo.
What creative scenes or movements are you most excited about right now?
I'm excited for whatever is coming next in the New York hardcore techno and adjacent scenes. I’ve kind of fallen back on keeping up but I'm excited to see and hear what people are going to put together in 2024 and beyond. I think there is tons of space right now for underground stuff to appear in a way there hasn't been in a couple years.
If you could have a sleepover with anyone in the world, who would it be?
Johnny Depp
Send the last pic in your camera roll, no context.
Hmm looks like that Teletubbies hill house. Okay, who should we have on next?
